Investigations in open magnetic trap

  1. Plasma-wave interaction:

    • Linear wave transformation in magnetized plasma.
    • Transition of wave interaction with plasma from linear to non-linear regime.
    • Decay instability.
    • Relativistic limitation of electron energy under the condition of electron cyclotron resonance.
    • Interaction of modulated UHF waves with magnetized plasma.
    • Independent UHF plasma source.
    • Injection of plasma from independent UHF source into the open magnetic trap of different configuration.
    • Investigation of the characteristics of plasma accumulated in the trap.
    • Investigation of fine mechanisms of wave interaction with quiescent target plasma accumulated in the trap. Namely, the study of the thresholds of transition from linear to non-linear regime of interaction.
    • Turbulence of UHF discharge plasma.

  2. The use of UHF discharges:

    • UHF discharge under high pressure (P>10-1 Torr) conditions and its use for investigation of Shock Wave dynamics in plasma and creation and excitation of the working area of gas lasers.
    • The use of UHF discharge in plasma-chemical experiments.
    • The use of UHF discharge for decomposition of Freons and NOx.
    • The use of UHF discharge for the processing of high temperature superconductive materials.

  3. UHF diagnostics:

    • Design of the schemes of UHF interferometers, reflectometers and radiometers. Construction, manufacturing and testing of waveguide components and antenna systems.
