Research Topics
|
Theoretical Particle Physics:
- Unified theories of quarks and leptons, grand unification and superunification,
superstring phenomenology;
- Quark-lepton families and flavor physics, flavor-changing rare processes;
- Local and global conservation laws, nature of gauge invariance, emergent gauge
and gravity theories;
- Spontaneous violation of relativistic invariance at the small distances and its
physical and astrophysical consequences;
- Extra space-time dimensions, elaboration of the brane models with large and
infinite extra space-time dimensions.
|
|
Cosmic Ray Physics:
- Investigation of the primary content of high energy cosmic rays in Extensive Air
Showers studying both muon and hadron component spectra;
- Data analysis related to super-high energy cosmic particles to find a possible
deviation from a strict Special Relativity (like as the Greizen-Zatsepin-Kouzmin
cutoff breaking and other phenomena);
- Scientific-Educational Project in Cosmic Ray Physics: Investigation of Extensive
Air Showers by constructing of the Network of the Cosmic Rays Stations in
Georgia allocated in high schools and universities. Currently three CR stations operate.
|
|
Particle Physics on Accelerators:
Experimental research on accelerators is virtually dominated by the DEPP participation
in the ALICE, ATLAS and CMS experiments at LHC (CERN) and the corresponding data analysis.
